Slow crusher blades, also known as beside-the-machine granulator blades, are core wearing parts designed for low-speed plastic recycling machines near injection molding machines. They mainly adopt the cutting and shearing principle to crush plastic sprues, runners and scraps efficiently at low rotation speed, realizing on-site recycling of plastic materials.
Blade Types & Structures
Pineapple Blade
The pineapple blade is cylindrical with dense spiral teeth on the surface, which is the most widely used blade type for slow speed crushers. It cuts plastics in a gnawing and squeezing way, producing uniform granules with little dust and low noise. It is suitable for online recycling of various engineering plastics.
Claw Blade / Hook Blade
Claw blades are designed with curved cutting edges, featuring strong crushing force and large torque. They can effectively handle thick plastic sprues and hard scraps. With stable clearance after sharpening, they are easy to maintain and often used together with pineapple blades for better crushing effects.
Fixed Blade
Fixed blades are flat rectangular blades installed on both sides of the machine body, forming a shearing fit with rotating blades. Most fixed blades are designed with multiple edges, which can be turned over for repeated use to reduce replacement costs.
Main Blade Materials
SKD11 / Cr12MoV
SKD11 and Cr12MoV are high-carbon high-chromium alloy tool steels, the most common materials for slow crusher blades. After heat treatment, the hardness reaches HRC58-62, with excellent wear resistance and impact resistance. They are suitable for crushing ABS, PC, PMMA, PA and other reinforced plastics, with long service life and can be sharpened repeatedly.
D2
D2 alloy steel has high hardness and good toughness, which is equivalent to SKD11 in performance. It is cost-effective and widely used in general plastic crushing scenarios, providing stable cutting performance for long-term operation.
High Speed Steel (SKH-51 / M2)
High speed steel blades reach HRC62-65 hardness, with superior wear resistance. They are specially designed for highly filled plastics and glass fiber reinforced materials, effectively reducing blade wear and extending replacement cycle.
Key Features
Low rotation speed and low noise, suitable for working environment near injection molding machines
Less powder and uniform granules, which can be directly reused in production
High hardness and strong wear resistance, long service life
Multi-edge design, reusable after turning over and sharpening
Simple structure, easy to disassemble, install and maintain
Application Scope
These blades are widely used for crushing various plastic scraps such as PP, PE, ABS, PC, PA, PMMA and reinforced plastics. They are ideal for beside-the-machine online recycling in injection molding workshops, plastic product factories and extrusion processing industries.
