I. shearing machine blade Daily Inspection and Cleaning

  1. Pre-use inspection:

Before starting the machine, carefully inspect the condition of the blades, paying close attention to any fine cracks, chipping, excessive wear, or deformation, especially in areas where the blades experience concentrated stress.  Also, check each blade fixing bolt to ensure there are no signs of loosening, stripping, or wear. If any problems are found, do not start the machine.

2. Post-use inspection:

After work is completed, promptly clean the accumulated waste, debris, dust, and oil from the blades and blade holder area. Residual metal chips can become embedded in the blade gaps, accelerating blade wear and potentially causing material jamming during the next operation. It is recommended to blow out debris from the gaps and then wipe the blade surface with a clean cloth to prevent prolonged oil corrosion.

3. Regular lubrication and maintenance:

For metal hydraulic shearing machines, check the hydraulic oil level daily to ensure it meets the standard and that the oil is clear and free of impurities. If the oil is cloudy or has sediment, replace it and clean the oil circuit immediately.  Apply specialized lubricating grease to the blade gap adjustment mechanism, blade holder guide rails, and other moving parts to reduce mechanical friction, ensure smooth adjustment and stable shearing, and prevent blade damage due to jamming.

II. Shearing Machine Blade Gap Adjustment

The blade gap is crucial for determining the shearing effect and blade lifespan. Improper adjustment will affect production efficiency and consumable costs. The gap size should be precisely set according to the thickness of the material being cut, typically controlled at 5%-10% of the material thickness. For example, when shearing thin sheets, a gap that is too small can lead to friction between the blades and increased wear; when shearing thick sheets, a gap that is too large can result in severe burrs on the cut edge and material deformation.  The gap should be adjusted flexibly based on the actual material being processed.

III. Efficient Utilization of Shearing Machine Blades:

Most shearing machine blades are designed with a four-sided usable structure. When one edge is worn, the fixing bolts can be loosened, and the blade can be flipped to an unused side. After re-tightening, it can be put back into use, significantly increasing blade utilization and reducing consumable procurement costs. When flipping the blade, the contact surface of the blade holder should be cleaned simultaneously to prevent impurities from affecting the fixing accuracy.
