High Strength Steel Cutting blades for Grade 60 & 500W Bar

ALAS makes durable rebar cutter blades and heavy-duty cutting blocks. They work perfectly for cutting Grade 60, 500W and 500 TMT steel bars on large construction sites.
We use tough, shock-resistant tool steel to produce these parts, including vacuum-hardened H13 and high-carbon Cr12MoV (SKD11). All shear blades have a steady hardness of HRC 50–64, so the cutting edges will not crack or chip even under maximum hydraulic pressure.
Our blades adopt a practical 4-sided design. You can flip and reuse them four times, which greatly extends service life. These heavy-duty parts fit GQ40, GQ50 and GQ60 bar croppers exactly.
As a direct manufacturer, we supply our products to infrastructure projects across Pakistan and Bangladesh.

FAQ – Rebar Cutter Blades & Cutting Blocks

Q1: What blade materials do you provide?

We supply three practical blade materials to suit different site conditions and budget needs:
  • 9CrSi: A cost-effective option. It works well for regular low and medium strength rebar, ideal for small and medium construction projects.

  • Cr12MoV: Heavy wear-resistant material. It lasts 2 to 3 times longer than 9CrSi, perfect for continuous cutting of standard high-strength rebar.

  • H13: Features great toughness and heat resistance. It rarely chips or breaks, making it ideal for high-speed cutting lines, hot-rolled rebar, thick rebar and scrap rebar processing.

Q2: Why do blades chip easily?

Blade chipping on site mostly happens due to these three reasons:
  • Material mismatch: Hard but brittle materials cannot withstand strong impact when cutting thick or ultra-hard rebar. Switching to H13 blades can effectively solve this problem.

  • Incorrect blade gap: A gap that is too wide or too narrow between upper and lower blades causes uneven force, which leads to edge chipping.

  • Unprofessional heat treatment: All our blades adopt vacuum heat treatment to achieve uniform hardness inside and out, which greatly lowers the chipping rate.

Q3: What’s the difference between 9CrSi and Cr12MoV?

  • Wear resistance: Cr12MoV wears much slower. Under the same working conditions, it delivers 2–3 times more cuts than 9CrSi.

  • Overall cost: 9CrSi has a lower initial purchase price. Though Cr12MoV costs slightly more upfront, it requires far fewer replacements, helping you save more on long-term operating costs.

Q4: Which material suits high-strength or thick ribbed rebar?

H13 is our top recommendation.
This material boasts excellent impact resistance and fatigue resistance. It stays stable during heavy, frequent cutting work, avoiding blade damage and unexpected project downtime.

Q5: Can you make custom non-standard blades?

Yes, we support full custom blade production with precision CNC machining.
To get an accurate custom solution, kindly provide the following details:
  • Complete dimension drawings (length, width, thickness, hole size and position)

  • Custom material requirements (9CrSi / Cr12MoV / H13)

  • Specifications of processed rebar (diameter and strength grade)

Q6: How to extend blade service life?

  • Rotate blades regularly: Most of our blades have 4 to 8 usable edges. Rotate the blade in time once an edge turns dull.

  • Fasten installation bolts: Loose blades will bear violent impact during cutting and get damaged easily.

  • Set a reasonable blade gap: Keep the gap at about 10% of the rebar diameter for smooth and stable cutting.

Q7: Why do standard blades break when cutting Grade 60 & 500W TMT bars?

Grade 60 and 500W TMT bars are high-strength ribbed steel materials. They produce strong instantaneous impact force during hydraulic cutting.
Ordinary standard blades lack sufficient toughness, so they are prone to chipping and cracking. Our vacuum heat-treated H13 blades can absorb continuous strong impact, keeping stable and intact when cutting TMT bars.

Q8: H13 vs Cr12MoV: Which is better for TMT bar cutting blocks?

  • H13 (SKD61, HRC 50–55): Offers a perfect balance of hardness and toughness. It resists chipping extremely well, ideal for high-speed production lines and thick ribbed TMT bars.

  • Cr12MoV (SKD11, HRC 61–64): Features ultra-high wear resistance for ordinary steel cutting. However, it is relatively brittle and easy to crack under continuous heavy impact.

Q9: How does 4-sided blade design save project cost?

Our square TMT bar cutting blocks are designed with four usable cutting edges, effectively quadrupling the blade’s service life.
When one edge wears out, workers only need to loosen the bolts, rotate the block 90 degrees and tighten it again to use a brand-new sharp edge. This greatly reduces replacement frequency, cutting your spending on shipping, storage and repeated procurement.

Q10: Do your blades fit GQ40 & GQ50 rebar cutters?

Yes, they fit perfectly 100%.
Our universal replacement rebar blades are manufactured by standard size and hole specifications, fully compatible with GQ40, GQ50 and GQ60 series bar croppers.
Maintaining a 10% blade gap based on rebar diameter ensures flat, clean cuts and reduces vibration damage to machine parts.

Q11: Can you customize blades according to customer technical drawings?

Absolutely. We are equipped with complete CNC grinding and machining equipment.
We can produce fully customized rebar shear blades strictly according to your technical drawings, to perfectly match your special equipment and processing needs.

Why Our Blades Work for Grade 60 & 500W TMT Bars

Bridges, building foundations and residential projects across Pakistan and Bangladesh mostly use Grade 60 and 500W TMT rebar. These tough steel bars create strong impact during cutting. Low-quality blades crack and wear out quickly, leading to work delays and extra spending. Quality rebar shear blades keep your work running smoothly and save you money in the long run.

H13 Material (Vacuum Heat Treated)

Cutting high-strength rebar creates strong impact on blade edges, and ordinary steel tends to crack easily.
Our H13 blades are treated with vacuum heat process, with hardness set at HRC 50–55. They handle heavy impact well, and will not bend or crack even under full hydraulic pressure.

Cut Costs with 4-Sided Structure

When one cutting edge turns dull, just loosen the screws, rotate the block 90 degrees and tighten it back up.
  • Cut down blade replacement frequency significantly

  • Save money on shipping, storage and spare part purchases

Perfect Fit for GQ Series Cutters

All universal replacement rebar blades are precision manufactured. They fit GQ40, GQ50 and GQ60 cutters perfectly with no extra adjustments needed.
  • Proper blade gap ensures smooth cuts

  • Prevent steel scraps from jamming the machine

  • Lower vibration and protect internal machine parts
