9CrSi Steel: Cost-Effective & Reliable for General-Purpose Use

Chemical Composition & Functions: 9CrSi (low-alloy cold-work steel) contains 0.85-0.95% C (enhances hardness/wear resistance), 0.30-0.60% Si (improves hardenability/toughness), 0.80-1.10% Cr (boosts wear/corrosion resistance), and trace Mn (refines grains/strength)—balancing hardness and toughness for general use.
Performance Characteristics: Heat-treated to HRC 58-62, 9CrSi offers good hardenability and wear resistance, with moderate impact resistance. Ideal for medium-thickness carbon steel, angle irons, and channel steels—cost-effective for regular processing needs.

SKD-11 Steel: High Wear Resistance for High-Volume Production

Chemical Composition & Functions: SKD-11 (high-carbon high-chromium steel) has 1.40-1.60% C (maximizes hardness/wear), 11.00-13.00% Cr (forms wear-resistant carbides), 0.80-1.10% Mo (prevents brittleness), and 0.20-0.40% V (refines grains)—ideal for high-demand, high-volume tasks.
Performance Characteristics: Heat-treated to HRC 60-64, SKD-11 delivers excellent wear resistance and dimensional stability. It resists wear/chipping during high-volume punching, perfect for thin metal mass production and boosting efficiency.

DC53 Steel: Premium Toughness & Wear Resistance for Heavy-Duty Scenarios

Chemical Composition & Functions: DC53 (upgraded SKD-11) has 1.00-1.20% C (balances hardness/toughness), 8.00-10.00% Cr (wear/corrosion resistance), 2.00-3.00% Mo (reduces stress), and 0.15-0.35% V (enhances impact resistance)—solving SKD-11’s brittleness.
Performance Characteristics: Heat-treated to HRC 60-64, DC53 combines toughness and wear resistance. Its strong impact resistance prevents shattering under high-tonnage punching—ideal for thick steel and heavy-duty tasks, with longer life than SKD-11 and 9CrSi.

The Importance of Proper Die Clearance

The "Golden Rule" for punching: 10% clearance relative to material thickness. Improper clearance causes tool failure—too small increases friction/burrs; too large deforms holes. Our CNC-ground sets ensure precise alignment, reducing burrs and premature wear.
