High-Wear SKD-11 Plastic Crusher Machine Blades & Granulator Knives

Our plastic crusher machine blades are engineered for durability and precision. Specifically designed for plastic granulators and grinders, these crushing blades are forged from high-grade SKD-11 tool steel. Every crusher machine blade undergoes specialized vacuum heat treatment (HRC 58-62) to ensure a clean cut and minimize regrind dust. Perfect for heavy-duty recycling of PET, PP, PE, and hard plastic lumps.

Why Precision Grinding is the Secret to Long-Lasting Plastic Crusher Machine Blades?

For recycling plants, the true cost of a crushing blade isn't its purchase price, but how often it needs to be replaced. Low-quality plastic grinder blades can dull in days, leading to excessive dust and machine strain

you can see the meticulous care taken during the grinding stage. We use industrial-grade precision grinders to ensure that every plastic crusher machine blade has:

  1. A Perfect Edge Angle: Optimized for different plastic types to reduce energy consumption.

  2. Smooth Surface Finish: Minimizes friction and heat buildup during high-speed operation.

  3. Exact Tolerances: Ensures that our plastic granulator knives fit your machine 100% perfectly without vibration.

Beyond the Steel
While material (like SKD-11) is important, it’s the processing that makes the difference. Our vacuum heat treatment and CNC grinding create a crusher machine blade that balances hardness with toughness. Don't settle for generic replacements—choose blades that are manufactured to perform.

Plastic Shredder Blade Guide: Best Materials for Recycling

This guide helps you choose the right shredder blades, granulator blades, granulator knives, plastic crusher blades and recycling machine cutters for your plastic recycling.

1. Key Choices: 3 Main Materials for Plastic Recycling Tools

Simple picks for common plastics (perfect for crusher knife replacement).

Hard Plastics (ABS, PET, PVC)

Material: SKD-11
  • Best for hard, tough plastics

  • Long life, stays sharp longer

  • Stops shredder blades and granulator knives from chipping or breaking

Soft Plastics (PE, PP, Films)

Material: 9CrSi
  • Great for thin, stretchy films

  • Low cost, budget-friendly (ideal for basicplastic recycling tools)

  • Stops material sticking to plastic crusher blades and recycling machine cutters

Fiber-Reinforced / Thick Materials

Material: DC53
  • The tough, improved SKD-11 (for durable granulator blades)

  • Best wear resistance for fibers (perfect for heavy-dutyplastic recycling tools)

  • Handles thick, mixed waste well (reduces crusher knife replacement frequency)

2. Which Blade to Use? (Shredder & Granulator Knives)

Match the blade shape to your material (works for all plastic crusher blades):
  • Claw Blades → Sheets, pipes, barrels

  • Flat Blades → Films, bags, clean cuts

  • Rotary & Fixed Knives → Precise gap control = no burrs (for recycling machine cutters)

3. Quick Decision Guide (All Plastic Recycling Tools)

Just pick one based on your material (easy for crusher knife replacement):
  • Hard plastic (ABS/PET): SKD-11 (best for granulator knives and plastic crusher blades)

  • Soft plastic / film: 9CrSi (affordable recycling machine cutters)

  • Fiber / thick material: DC53 (durable granulator blades)

4. Quick Tips for Plastic Recycling Tools

  • Budget start: 9CrSi covers most jobs (saves on crusher knife replacement)

  • High performance: SKD-11 for most recycling (top choice forgranulator knives)

  • Heavy duty: DC53 for long life & tough jobs (best plastic crusher blades for fibers)

Plastic Crusher Machine Blades FAQ

Q1: What is the best blade material for shredding dirty plastic?
DC53 and SKD11 are the top blade choices for shredding dirty plastic containing sand, dirt and small metal bits. SKD11 offers excellent wear resistance, suited for long continuous working cycles. DC53 has better toughness, so its cutting edges won’t chip even when hitting hard impurities in waste plastic.
Q2: How frequently should shredder blades be rotated or sharpened?
Our square blades come with four cutting edges for extended use. You can rotate the blade to a new sharp edge once you find lower shredding output or excessive dust during operation. As a regular maintenance rule, check blade conditions every 80–120 working hours. Hard plastic materials wear blades faster — glass-filled nylon, for instance, causes more blade wear than LDPE.
Q3: Why does shredded plastic melt and stick to the blades?
Plastic melting and sticking to blades is mostly caused by over-friction or dull blades. Dull blades tear plastic instead of cutting it clean, which generates high heat and melts the material. Improper blade gap is another common cause. Keeping a correct clearance between rotor and fixed blades ensures neat cuts and less heat buildup.
Q4: Are your blades compatible with mainstream European and American shredder brands?
Absolutely. We supply precision-made replacement blades for mainstream European and American shredder brands, including Lindner, Vecoplan, Untha, Zerma and Weima. All blade sizes, bolt holes and countersunk holes follow strict OEM standards for a perfect, hassle-free installation.
Q5: What are the differences between vacuum heat treatment and ordinary hardening?
We use vacuum heat treatment for all our blades, which delivers consistent hardness from the blade surface all the way to the core. Regular ordinary hardening only hardens the blade surface and leaves the core soft, resulting in quick wear and easy breakage. Our vacuum-treated blades maintain a stable hardness of 58–62 HRC, effectively boosting blade durability and service life.
