Rebar Cutter Blades FAQ

Q1: Are your hydraulic rebar cutter blades compatible with Göçmaksan, Pedax, Ademsan, Taeyeon and other international brands?

A: Yes, they work perfectly. We make blades with exact original specs to fit these mainstream machines. Our products match Turkish Göçmaksan GMS series, Ademsan Makine, German Pedax cutting lines and heavy-duty cutters from Korean Taeyeon. Just send us your machine model, or drawings with blade sizes and bolt hole positions, and we will get the right replacement blades ready.

Q2: What materials do you use for rebar cutter blades, and how do I pick the right one?

A: We offer three types of steel to suit different jobs and budgets.
  • 9CrSi: A budget-friendly option. It is easy to machine and holds hardness well. Great for regular rebar with medium or low strength, commonly used on small and medium job sites.

  • Cr12MoV: A top choice for wear resistance. After heat treatment, it lasts 2 to 3 times longer than 9CrSi. Use it for steady cutting of clean, hard rebar where impact is light.

  • H13: Tough and heat-resistant. It stands up to heavy impact and rarely chips. It is ideal for large-diameter rebar, HRB500E high-strength deformed rebar, mixed scrap rebar and hot rolled rebar on fast production lines.

Q3: What is the biggest difference between 9CrSi and Cr12MoV?

A: Cr12MoV wears far slower. Under the same working conditions, its service life is two to three times that of 9CrSi. 9CrSi costs less upfront, so it is preferred if you want to control initial spending. Cr12MoV has a higher unit price, but you do not need to replace it often. In the long run, it cuts down your overall cost per ton of rebar processed.

Q4: Why do blades chip or crack easily during heavy cutting work?

A: Three common causes lead to this problem. First, if you use hard but brittle steel to cut thick or high-strength rebar, strong impact will break the blade. Switch to H13 for better toughness. Second, wrong gap between upper and lower blades creates uneven stress and causes chipping. Third, poor heat treatment leaves internal stress inside the blade. All our blades go through vacuum heat treatment to ensure even hardness all the way through, which greatly prevents chipping issues.

Q5: Which material should I use for HRB500E high-strength deformed rebar and thick rebar?

A: We highly recommend H13. It delivers excellent resistance against impact fatigue and chipping. It works reliably even with heavy workloads, so you can avoid unexpected stops caused by damaged blades.

Q6: Can you produce non-standard blades based on our drawings?

A: Absolutely. We have complete CNC machining equipment to make custom blades with 1:1 accuracy for all kinds of equipment. Please provide detailed dimension drawings, your preferred material, as well as the diameter and strength grade of the rebar you process.

Q7: What production methods do you use to make blades last longer?

A: Every blade is finished with precise CNC grinding and professional vacuum heat treatment. CNC grinding keeps all dimensions accurate, so the blade will not shift or shake while installed. Vacuum heat treatment removes internal stress and ensures consistent hardness from core to edge. These two steps help the blade stay sharp and extend its service life.

Q8: How to maintain blades to get longer service life and better return on investment?

A: Follow three simple rules. First, rotate the blade once one cutting edge gets dull. Our blades have 2 or 4 usable edges for full use. Second, tighten all mounting bolts firmly. Any looseness will lead to harsh impact during cutting. Third, set the blade gap properly — keep it around 10% of the rebar diameter for best performance.

Why Specialized Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Rebar Shear Blades Benefit Your Infrastructure Supply Chain

In the construction and metalworking industries, cutting tool quality directly dictates job site efficiency and overall project profitability. Large-scale infrastructure builds — including sea-crossing bridges, high-speed rail lines and large hydroelectric dams — require continuous cutting of thick, high-strength deformed rebars. These heavy-duty operations expose shear blades to extreme mechanical pressure, heat buildup and constant friction.
Standard off-the-shelf blades commonly chip, bend or dull quickly under such harsh conditions. Partnering with a professional Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Rebar Shear Blades manufacturer, rather than a general trading supplier, delivers consistent quality, reliable technical support, competitive factory pricing and machine-specific custom solutions for global construction equipment.

1. Premium Blade Materials & Standardized Manufacturing

Blade durability and cutting performance rely entirely on premium raw materials and precise production control. Professional manufacturers oversee every production stage, from steel sourcing to final precision polishing. We specialize in three high-performance, field-proven steel grades for rebar cutter blades: H13, Cr12MoV and 9CrSi.
Every blade undergoes vacuum heat treatment and full surface grinding. This refined process delivers uniform hardness, sharper and longer-lasting cutting edges, and far fewer on-site equipment failures.

1.1 H13 Blades – Ideal for High-Impact Heavy Cutting

High-Impact H13 Hydraulic Shear Blades are the preferred choice for continuous, high-load cutting of high-strength rebar on major job sites.
Chemical composition: C 0.32–0.45%, Cr 4.75–5.50%, Mo 1.10–1.75%, Si 0.80–1.20%, Mn 0.20–0.60%, V 0.80–1.20%, P/S ≤ 0.030%, balanced Fe
Core performance benefits:
  • Balanced carbon content delivers stable strength and toughness to prevent edge chipping during heavy shearing

  • Chromium, Molybdenum and Vanadium greatly enhance heat resistance and impact endurance

  • Silicon maintains structural stability under sustained high-temperature operation

Mechanical properties: Hardness HRC 50–55; excellent overall toughness, thermal stability and fatigue resistance
Best applications: High-strength ribbed rebar, round-the-clock continuous cutting, and large-scale Infrastructure Project Rebar Tooling operations

1.2 Cr12MoV Blades – Optimized for High-Wear Cutting Conditions

Cr12MoV is a high-hardness cold-work tool steel built to withstand frequent abrasive cutting tasks.
Chemical composition: C 1.45–1.70%, Cr 11.00–12.50%, Mo 0.40–0.60%, V 0.15–0.30%, Si/Mn ≤ 0.40%, P/S ≤ 0.030%, balanced Fe
Core performance benefits:
  • High carbon and chromium content forms hard alloy particles for exceptional wear resistance

  • Molybdenum refines the steel grain structure, reducing brittleness and improving fatigue life

  • Vanadium stabilizes the microstructure to preserve sharp cutting edges longer

Mechanical properties: Hardness HRC 55–62; superior compressive and bending strength with extended service life
Usage notes: Excellent for hard cold-rolled rebars. Not recommended for high-impact or large-gap cutting due to relatively lower toughness.

1.3 9CrSi Blades – Cost-Effective for General Cutting Work

9CrSi is a reliable, budget-friendly steel grade designed for standard rebar cutting requirements.
Chemical composition: C 0.85–0.95%, Si 1.20–1.60%, Cr 0.95–1.25%, Mn 0.30–0.60%, P/S ≤ 0.030%, balanced Fe
Core performance benefits:
