In pipe pile production, the end of the steel bar must be upset (pressed to form a "heading").
This heading ensures the steel bar connects reliably with the anchor during tensioning.
The precision of the die’s cavity directly determines the quality of the heading, which affects the safety of prestress tensioning.

3. Steel Bar Clamps: Positioning Tools for Upsetting

Clamps are special positioning tools for prestressed steel bar upsetting, used with heading dies. Their main role is to fix the steel bar and ensure it aligns with the die cavity.

Key Functions

Positioning: Ensure the steel bar end and die cavity are aligned (deviation ≤0.03mm). Avoid defects like eccentric or flat headings.
Clamping: Keep the steel bar fixed under high upsetting pressure (50~200kN). Ensure the heading length and diameter meet design requirements (1.5~2 times the steel bar diameter).
Protection: The clamp surface fits the steel bar tightly to avoid damage or hardening, and keep the steel bar’s mechanical properties intact.
