Low Speed Shredder Blades & Plastic Crushers
In the circular economy, recycling lines work well if the first size reduction step is efficient.
Low Speed Shredder Blades
They are the key part of twin-shaft or four-shaft shredders. Here’s what you need to know:
Use high torque (low RPM) to cut materials (unlike high-speed granulators that use speed)
Ideal for large, dirty, or tough waste
Critical for high-capacity recycling productivity
Our blades cut tough materials easily (industrial plastics, rubber, wood, light metals)
Low noise and dust
Why Choose Our Shredder Blades?
Maximum Toughness: Made of top SKD11 or DC53 tool steel; precise vacuum heat treatment (no chipping under heavy use)
Made for Torque: Blade shapes fit dual-shaft and single-shaft shredders; no jamming
Precise Fit: CNC-machined to tight standards; consistent cutting gaps
Long Wear Life: Resist wear, stay sharp longer; less downtime and energy use
Replacement blades for Shred-Tech, Vecoplan, and custom systems
SKD11 vs DC53: Which to Choose?
DC53 (Recommended): Good wear resistance; much better impact resistance and anti-chipping (perfect for glass fiber plastic and high-hard plastic)
SKD11: High hardness and wear resistance but brittle; only for clean, impurity-free, no-impact pure high-hard plastic
Heat Treatment Tips
Extend Blade Life (For Glass Fiber Plastic)
Common Chipping Issues
SKD11 chipping: Due to brittleness; switch to DC53
DC53 chipping: Not material issue; check edge angle, spindle speed, blade gap, or heat treatment
Slow Machine-Side Plastic Crushers
Designed for use near injection molding machines. Key features:
Low RPM (28–300): Less heat, no plastic melting, better recycled material
Quiet: Soundproof boxes + sound-absorbing cotton (meets industrial noise rules)
No screen: Even particles, little powder (can mix directly with new material)
Durable blades: SKD11 and imported steel; wear-resistant
Optional automatic feeding (boosts efficiency)
Applicable Scenarios
Injection molding recycling (crushes sprues and defective parts on-site)
Hard plastics: PC, nylon, ABS, etc.
Soft plastics: LDPE film, PP woven bags (some models)

FAQ: DC53 vs SKD11 Shredder Blades
1. Which is better for high-hard plastics and glass fiber plastics: DC53 or SKD11?
A: Choose DC53 first. It wears almost as well as SKD11, but is much tougher and less likely to chip. Glass fiber plastics have hard particles that hit the blade, and high-hard plastics create intermittent cutting pressure. DC53 only wears down, no chipping, and works more reliably.
2. Why is SKD11 not good for glass fiber plastics?
A: SKD11 is hard and wears well, but it is brittle and not tough. The hard particles in glass fiber hit the blade edge nonstop, easily causing chipping or corner damage. It cannot handle intermittent impact and is not fit for shredding glass fiber plastics.
3. When can SKD11 be used for high-hard plastics?
A: Only for pure high-hard plastics with very clean working conditions—no impurities, no hard impacts. Feeding must be even all the time, with no hard blocks hitting the blade. This way, SKD11’s strong wear resistance works well. If materials change or have hard spots, chipping happens easily.
4. What to note for heat treatment? Will hardness drop after a few grinds?
A: Both materials need full vacuum quenching + multiple tempering to harden the entire blade. Do NOT use shallow surface quenching. If you do, the hard layer will wear off after 1–2 grinds, hardness drops fast, and the blade wears out quickly.
5. How to extend blade life for highly abrasive glass fiber plastics (besides material choice)?
A: Add PVD AlTiN or TiCN coating. It reduces friction, resists wear from glass fiber particles, prevents material sticking, and makes the blade last much longer.
6. Why does SKD11 chip often?
A: It’s mainly because SKD11 is brittle and cannot handle the impact from glass fiber or high-hard plastics. Replace it with DC53 to fix the problem.
7. If DC53 still chips, is it a material problem?
A: No, it’s not a material problem. Common reasons include: Blade edge is too sharpSpindle speed is too highBlade gap is not rightHeat treatment made it too hard, with not enough tempering
