Mechanical Properties & Target Operational Conditions

H13

48–54 HRC

High structural toughness and thermal stability. Resists heavy impact loading without cracking. Built for cutting thick steel plates, heavy I-beams, and heavy HMS 1 & 2 scrap.

X45 (1.2767)

50–55 HRC

High-Nickel (4% Ni) tool steel. Core skeleton toughness prevents sudden fracture under shock loads. Developed as standard replacement parts for European demolition shears.

1.2746

50–55 HRC

Modified high-nickel grade with added Vanadium (V) and Molybdenum (Mo). Increases abrasion resistance compared to 1.2767 while retaining core toughness. Built for high-volume recycling yards.

6CrW2Si

56–58 HRC

Tungsten (W) and Silicon (Si) alloyed steel. High impact-fatigue resistance. For continuous medium-duty shearing of rebar, standard steel pipes, and mixed scrap material.

D2

58–60 HRC

High-carbon, high-chromium tool steel. High abrasive wear life but lower shock resistance. Recommended strictly for light, thin, low-impact abrasive scrap metal recycling.

3. OEM Compatibility & Full-Kit Supply Mode

Replacement kits match original OEM installation dimensions, bolt hole centerlines, and cutting clearance standards:

  • Genesis Compatible Series: Direct-fit blades for Genesis GXP, GXT, and GMS hydraulic mobile shears.

  • Labounty Compatible Series: Heavy-duty knives for LaBounty MSD series shears, including MSD 1500, MSD 2000, MSD 2500, and MSD 3000 models.

  • European Specification Attachments: Wear-resistant replacement blades for Mantovanibenne, Verachtert, and European heavy demolition tools.

  • Turnkey Packages: We support a full-kit supply mode. Main cutting edges can be bundled with matching square mobile shear blocks, excavator shear guide blades, piercing tips, high-strength mounting bolts, and precision adjustment shims.

4. Manufacturing QC & QA Protocol

Each manufacturing batch implements a four-stage quality verification to ensure consistency in heavy industrial environments:

  1. Material Validation: 100% spectroscopy testing of raw steel chemical composition against standard tool steel specifications.

  2. Ultrasonic Inspection: Non-destructive testing (NDT) of blade blanks to eliminate internal micro-cracks or gas porosity before machining.

  3. Hardness Profile Audit: Multi-point Rockwell (HRC) testing across the cutting edge, mid-section, and core post-tempering to verify through-hardness.

  4. Dimensional Audit: 100% verification of mounting hole alignment, pitch spacing, counterbore depths, thickness tolerances, and edge angles.

5. Export Packaging & Ocean Freight Protection

  • Moisture & Rust Protection: Ground steel surfaces receive a heavy application of industrial anti-rust oil, followed by airtight wrapping of moisture-proof protective plastic film.

  • Export Crate Standards: Shipped inside heavy-duty, ISPM 15 compliant fumigated wooden cases built with internal timber blocking to lock heavy parts in place.

  • Shipping Logistics: Crates feature external steel strapping, lifting block pathways, and clear center-of-gravity labeling for LCL or FCL ocean transport.

6. Customization & Ordering Workflow

  1. Technical Input: Provide original OEM part numbers, attachment models, or send technical drawings indicating Length × Width × Thickness and the exact Bolt Hole layout.

  2. Engineering Evaluation: Our team reviews your attachment jaw pressure and dominant scrap inputs to select the ideal material grade and matching hardness range.

  3. Drawing Sign-off: A technical confirmation sheet and formal quote are provided within 24 hours.

  4. CNC Production: Machining begins upon blueprint sign-off, adhering to approved tolerance limits.

7. Technical FAQ

Q1: What steel materials are stocked for excavator scrap shear blades? A: Standard inventory includes H13, X45 (1.2767), 1.2746, 6CrW2Si, and D2. Custom alloy steel formulations can be specified for extreme operational environments.

Q2: Which material is recommended for cutting thick I-beams, structural profiles, and car recycling? A: H13 and 1.2746. These grades retain structural core toughness under heavy hydraulic loading, preventing catastrophic snapping or blade fractures.

Q3: Can I use D2 steel blades for heavy demolition steel profile shearing? A: No. D2 steel is wear-resistant but brittle under massive impact. Deploying D2 on heavy structural beams will cause edge-chipping or major cracking. Restrict D2 use to light, non-structural, high-abrasion recycling materials.

Q4: Why does ALAS keep the working hardness of H13 blades around 48–52 HRC instead of higher? A: Maximizing hardness increases brittleness. At 48–52 HRC, H13 achieves its optimal impact fatigue resistance, ensuring the blade absorbs shock loads rather than shattering on-site.

Q5: Are these rectangular shear blades rotatable? A: Yes. Rectangular excavator shear blades are indexable with 2-edge or 4-edge reversible designs, allowing field operators to rotate the blade to fresh edges before regrinding.

Q6: Do you supply individual replacement knives or complete wear parts packages? A: We accommodate both buying preferences. You can order single main cutting edges or complete, ready-to-install kit configurations containing secondary blades, excavator shear guide blades, piercing tips, shims, and fasteners.
