H13 (4Cr5MoSiV1)
Type: Hot work die steel
Key features: Good high-temperature strength and fatigue resistance
Used for: Hot rolled plate, iron plate, scrap metal, thick stainless steel, and high-strength alloy steel
LD (7Cr7Mo2V2Si)
Type: Cold work die steel
Key features: High strength, toughness, wear resistance, and no easy chipping
Used for: High-strength steel, stainless steel, thick plates, and hard-to-cut metals (for large hydraulic shears)
Blade Material Selection Guide
1. H13 (4Cr5MoSiV1) Hot Work Tool Steel
Hardness: HRC 50–55 (after heat treatment)
Key features: Resists impact and high temperatures; tough core
Suitable for: Alligator shears (≥160T)
Cuts: Ultra-thick steel plates (≥30mm), high-hardness round steel, thick-walled pipes, and heavy materials
Advantages: Good for heavy impact; no easy chipping/breakage; easy to use
2. H13K (Modified H13)
Key features: Better than H13 – tougher core, more stable at high temperatures, resists fatigue
Suitable for: Ultra-large alligator shears (≥180T)
Cuts: Extra-thick steel plates (≥40mm), heavy alloy steel, thick seamless pipes, large structural steel
Advantages: More impact-resistant than H13; 20–30% longer service life; best for large shears
3. LD Steel (7Cr7Mo2V2Si) Cold Work Tool Steel
Hardness: HRC 60–64 (after heat treatment)
Key features: Very wear-resistant; tough core; uniform hardness
Suitable for: Medium-to-large alligator shears (100T–160T)
Cuts: 10–30mm steel plates, thick rebar, rusted scrap, angle steel/channel steel
Advantages: Most wear-resistant; fewer blade changes; higher work efficiency
Blade Strengthening & Heat Treatment
Good heat treatment makes blades last twice as long. Our process:
Vacuum heat treatment: Replaces normal air quenching; no surface oxidation; uniform hardness
Low-temperature tempering (180–220℃): Eliminates internal stress; prevents deformation/cracking; stabilizes hardness and toughness

Regular crocodile/scrap shears: Use H13
Complex scrap or harsh conditions: Use H13K
